  1. 1. Civil Engineer/Project Manager

    McCrone is an award-winning civil engineering firm with over 80 years of expertise servicing the Mid-Atlantic region.     Working in concert with our management team, we are looking not only for someone in production, but also business development, mentoring, client service and working collaboratively with all our offices.

    Education and skills:

    • Licensed professional engineer in Maryland
    • 7+ years of increasingly responsible project management experience in civil engineering that includes design of residential and commercial land development, institutional and municipal/county government projects.
    • Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess project needs and deliver client solutions.
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD® Civil 3D®
    • Engaging verbal/written communication skills and ability to comfortably interact with people from all kinds of backgrounds.

  2. 2. Civil Project Engineer

    McCrone has an opening for a civil engineer with 2-5 years of land development design experience to join our team. We are seeking a motivated self-starter to work on a variety of projects in the commercial, residential, and institutional sector primarily located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with some work in the surrounding Mid-Atlantic states.


    • All facets of civil site design including site layout, land grading, stormwater management, roadway, utilities, and sediment and erosion control
    • Client and consultant interaction while working on projects.
    • Assisting with permit processing and submittals with local and state agencies.

    Education and Skills:

    • Must have an Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, HydroCAD, and Maryland Stormwater Management Design
    • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) license preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
      Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  3. 3. Civil Designer

    McCrone is looking for a highly motivated, task-oriented, civil designer to join our team.  We need a creative problem-solver who can manage and complete critical design tasks for multiple residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.  This is the perfect career opportunity for an individual with a strong desire to build and enhance their professional skills and expertise.


    • Site layout, grading, storm drainage, roads, utility infrastructure and erosion and sediment control design.
    • Stormwater management and stormwater design.
    • Prepare CAD drawings, layouts and plans as directed that conform to local codes and standards.
    • Prepare project plan and detail sheets.
    • Prepare as-built plan sets as well as plats and easement exhibits.
    • Assist with permitting and preparation of bid documents and specifications.

    Education and Skills:

    • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology is preferred and at least 5+ years of civil design experience is required.
    • Must demonstrate broad-based knowledge of standard methods in civil design.
    • Must be able to check plan design for accuracy after initial drafting plans are completed and note any discrepancies and necessary changes.
      Must demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D®.
    • Must have the ability to complete design tasks as assigned by a project manager or project engineer in a timely manner.
    • Must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with team members.


  4. 4. Project Engineer - Water/Wastewater

    If you are looking to advance your career in Civil/Environmental Engineering; apply your skills and experience on unique and challenging projects all over Maryland; and work with diverse, friendly and family oriented co-workers, please consider joining McCrone’s Public Works Group. We need you to have two to five years of experience in the study, design, and construction management of water and/or wastewater projects. Experience in mechanical and civil drafting using AutoCAD® is strongly desired. P.E. license is preferred, but not required. Responsibilities include preparing water and wastewater studies, water and wastewater facilities design, preparing drawings and specifications, and reviewing documents for construction projects. McCrone serves public and private clients and has a growing workload. Training is available.

  5. 5. Survey Technician

    McCrone is seeking a responsible, motivated, and detailed orientated Land Survey Technician to support our engineering, planning, environmental, and construction services projects.  We are looking for a high school graduate with coursework in algebra, geometry, and trigonometry.  Experience with computer aided drafting programs and other software a plus, but will train.  Candidate must be able to work in the office at a computer and outdoors to assist with field surveys in sometimes adverse field conditions and rough terrain.  Position requires a team orientated person willing to adapt to rapidly changing support duties.   Candidate must also have good communication skills and hold a valid driver’s license.  Candidates should be prepared to submit a copy of their high school/college transcript upon request.
