  1. 1. Branch Manager - Centreville Office

    McCrone is a multi-office award winning civil engineering and surveying firm with over 80 years of experience servicing the Mid- Atlantic region.  We are looking for a Branch Manager in our Centreville office to help us keep growing. The Branch Manager will be responsible for ensuring that key projects’ planning, surveying and engineering tasks are fulfilled, solving any issues that may come up in a project, answering technical questions, proposing budgets for projects, training new employees, and working with various other departments.
    Qualified applicant should have 10 years of experience working in engineering or surveying with a PE or a Surveyor’s License.

    Responsibilities for Branch Manager:

    • Assign tasks to engineers
    • Gauge progress of various projects
    • Communicate effectively with customers
    • Propose budgets for various projects
    • Create reports to give updates on projects
    • Attend trade shows and conferences

    Qualifications for Branch Manager:

    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a Licensed Surveyor

  2. 2. Electrical Engineer/Designer

    McCrone is a professional engineering firm that specializes in Industrial Design and Construction Management. We are seeking a motivated Electrical Designer/Engineer who enjoys both design and construction stages of projects to join the McCrone team in our Annapolis office.

    The candidate will be responsible for the design and preparation of electrical contract drawings and technical specifications, review of construction shop drawings, field investigation of electrical construction, electrical calculations, and development of control system schematics. Additionally, the candidate will assist in the design of process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), and instrumentation & control implementation.

    Responsibilities of this position during the design and construction phases of projects include:

    • Power Distribution, Motor Control, PLC Control System, Control Panels, Lighting,

    Facility Conduit and Wiring Design

    • Schematic and Logic Development
    • Knowledge and Implementation of the National Electric Code
    • Proficient in AutoCAD
    • Facility Construction Document and Shop Drawing Review
    • Facility Testing and Startup

    As a successful candidate you should have:

    • Minimum 4 years’ experience in Industrial Electrical Design, preferably in water and wastewater application
    • AutoCAD experience.
    • EIT or FE license preferred, with the ability to obtain a professional engineer’s license.
    • Project Team experience.
    • Quality focus with attention to detail.

    McCrone has an opening for a Licensed Survey Manager with technical, team building and client relation skills in any one of our four branches. McCrone is a multi-disciplined land planning, civil engineering, environmental engineering, and construction services firm. McCrone has four offices located in Maryland and services Maryland, Delaware, and Virginia. Proven experience is needed to train and manage field crew(s) and office personnel. Candidate must be current with technology such as Civil 3D, Robotic total station equipment and GPS.

    Other Requirements:

    • Licensed Surveyor in Maryland and Delaware. Virginia license is a plus.

We are looking for a talented, results oriented Civil Project Manager with a desire for an increased level of responsibility and leadership role within the civil engineering profession. Our team works on diverse projects for residential, commercial, industrial, institutional, and public works clientele. The individual will coordinate with the Branch Manager on business development, maintaining firm standards and project budgets, as well as provide oversight and coordination among the design team.

  6. 6. Civil Project Engineer

    McCrone has an opening for a civil engineer with 2-5 years of land development design experience to join our team. We are seeking a motivated self-starter to work on a variety of projects in the commercial, residential, and institutional sector primarily located on Maryland’s Eastern Shore with some work in the surrounding Mid-Atlantic states.

    Responsibilities:

    • All facets of civil site design including site layout, land grading, stormwater management, roadway, utilities, and sediment and erosion control
    • Client and consultant interaction while working on projects.
    • Assisting with permit processing and submittals with local and state agencies.

    Education and Skills:

    • Must have an Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET accredited college or university
    • Proficiency in AutoCAD® Civil 3D®, HydroCAD, and Maryland Stormwater Management Design
    • Engineer in Training (EIT) or Fundamentals in Engineering (FE) license preferred.
    • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
      Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  7. 7. Civil Designer

    McCrone is looking for a highly motivated, task-oriented, civil designer to join our team.  We need a creative problem-solver who can manage and complete critical design tasks for multiple residential, commercial, industrial and institutional projects.  This is the perfect career opportunity for an individual with a strong desire to build and enhance their professional skills and expertise.

    Responsibilities:

    • Site layout, grading, storm drainage, roads, utility infrastructure and erosion and sediment control design.
    • Stormwater management and stormwater design.
    • Prepare CAD drawings, layouts and plans as directed that conform to local codes and standards.
    • Prepare project plan and detail sheets.
    • Prepare as-built plan sets as well as plats and easement exhibits.
    • Assist with permitting and preparation of bid documents and specifications.

    Education and Skills:

    • Associates Degree in Engineering Technology is preferred and at least 5+ years of civil design experience is required.
    • Must demonstrate broad-based knowledge of standard methods in civil design.
    • Must be able to check plan design for accuracy after initial drafting plans are completed and note any discrepancies and necessary changes.
    • Must demonstrate proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D®.
    • Must have the ability to complete design tasks as assigned by a project manager or project engineer in a timely manner.
    • Must have excellent communication skills and have the ability to work with team members.
