How do you contribute to your company and/or the industry?

I do what I do best and my partners do what they do
best; we trust in each other’s strengths and expertise.

How do you manage the work/life balance?

I balance President/CFO work life with a home life that’s farm chores and horses.

Who or what has been the strongest influence on your career?

My father-we’d spend hours in his study talking about stocks, investments and finances. He came through the Great Depression, so he instilled in me a respect for money and its management.

What impact has social media/networking had on your business?

We find ourselves being much more aware of our company’s public perception and social media appearance.

What were some of your early goals and did anything happen in you career/profession to change them?

Early on, I worked in CPA firms doing tax and audit, but realized I preferred being totally involved in company transactions; knowing everything about how a company operated.

What unique qualities or personality traits do you feel makes you most successful in your profession?

I admit it (and my partners will agree) – I’m a bit of a control nut, I’m results oriented and have way too much energy.

What challenges and/or obstacles do you feel you needed to overcome to become as successful as you are today?

Sometimes the hardest thing to do is—-believe in your own abilities.

What was the most defining moment for you in the profession you are currently in?

When our company’s executive management group became a real team, we felt the transformation and acknowledged a commitment to each other.

What outside activities do you enjoy during you free time?

Horses, horses and oh yea …… horses.

What inspiring word of advice would you give to a young woman about to go into the field of commercial real estate or your allied field?

Be yourself, recognize your strengths, know your weaknesses – always contribute more than you take.

What’s your greatest professional accomplishment?
